2. Data handled in the app
Mahlvori is designed for local meal and shopping planning. Depending on how you use it, the app stores on your device:
- country, serving count and an optional weekly budget;
- diet, selected meal types, allergens and other exclusions, kitchen equipment, maximum preparation time and store names you enter;
- weekly plans, recipe favorites and recipes you create, including names, preparation time, ingredients, amounts, steps, tags, allergens and equipment;
- pantry items, the resulting shopping list and checked-off items;
- where applicable, a recognized product code and name if you choose to add the product to your pantry.
Allergy and diet settings may reveal information about your health or beliefs. Mahlvori does not require an account and does not ask for your name, address, email address or date of birth.
3. Purpose and local processing
The app uses these details to filter recipes, create a weekly plan and assemble a shopping list. It processes this planning data in its private app storage on your device. The app does not separately encrypt these local settings and recipes, so protect access with your device lock and Android security settings. AppsMakerDeluxe does not operate a Mahlvori user account service, cloud sync or its own app server. The app does not send your recipes, allergy settings, pantry, plans or shopping lists to AppsMakerDeluxe, Open Food Facts or retailers.
The planner applies your selected filters locally. It does not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects and does not create an advertising profile.
4. Camera and local barcode scanning
The camera permission is requested only when you open the barcode scanner. Camera frames are processed strictly locally on your device in real time. A recognized barcode is matched locally against the included offline product catalog. Camera frames are never saved as photos and never leave your device. Only if you choose to add the recognized item will its code and name be stored in your local pantry storage. Manual entry is always available without camera access.
Purely on-device processing without Internet access: Mahlvori uses the open-source ZXing library for barcode recognition. The app contains no third-party tracking, analytics, or advertising services and does not request Internet permission (android.permission.INTERNET). Neither camera frames, nor barcodes, nor diagnostic metrics are transmitted to any servers.
5. Product catalog and data sources
The app includes an offline Open Food Facts extract with product names, GTINs and community-reported retailer tags for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It contains no product photos, prices or branch stock. Barcode scans and searches are not sent to Open Food Facts. The data and license section explains the distributed catalog's scope, source, license, limitations and download. Retailer tags may be missing, wrong or outdated and do not prove current availability.
6. Storage, backups and deletion
Your entries remain stored until you change or delete them. Mahlvori provides “Delete all local data” in settings. You can also clear app data in Android settings; uninstalling removes the app's private storage. The app excludes its data from automatic Android cloud backup and device transfer.
You can manually export a backup as a JSON file or import one using Android's system file picker. A backup can contain your saved settings, recipes, plans and lists. Importing replaces the data currently saved in the app. The app does not encrypt this export file. Its location and any backup there depend on the file app or provider you choose; you must delete exported files yourself. The app does not request broad storage permission.
7. Sharing with other apps
If you select “Share shopping list,” Android passes the list text to the app you choose. That app and its provider then receive the list and handle it under their own terms. AppsMakerDeluxe does not receive a copy. You can choose not to share.
8. Allergens and food information
Allergen and exclusion settings filter the recipe information stored in Mahlvori. They do not guarantee that a recipe or product is safe for an allergy. The product catalog does not contain complete ingredient or cross-contact warnings. Check current packaging and possible cross-contamination yourself. Mahlvori is not medical advice.
9. Contact by email
If you email us, we receive your sender address, message, attachments and technical email headers needed to deliver it. We use them to handle your request and delete them when no longer needed for that purpose, unless statutory retention duties or necessary legal claims require otherwise. We generally process these messages to reply under our legitimate interest in handling incoming inquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR); if you request pre-contractual steps, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR may apply. The message is transmitted and stored through email providers, including Google's Gmail service. Google describes its retention periods and possible international processing in its Privacy Policy and data transfer information. Please do not send allergy or other sensitive information unless needed for your request.
10. This website
These privacy and help pages are static files. AppsMakerDeluxe does not add its own analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, external fonts or embedded media, and does not set analytics cookies. GitHub Pages hosts the site and states that it logs visitors' IP addresses for security. See the GitHub Pages documentation and GitHub Privacy Statement.
11. Your rights and changes
You can view, change, export or delete app data directly on your device. AppsMakerDeluxe cannot access that local app data. For personal data we hold, for example from an email, you may—where legal requirements are met—request access, correction, erasure or restriction and object to processing. You may also complain to a data protection supervisory authority. Where applicable, you may request data portability or withdraw consent for future processing.
